Under new regulations that came into effect from 1 october 2008 the Permitted development regime changed and planning permission for a garage room conversion is not usually required.
Sometimes permitted development rights have been removed from some properties with regard to garage conversions particularly if you live on a new Housing development or in a conservation area.Before we start your project we would always confirm with you that planning permission is not required.
Where work is proposed to a listed building, listed building consent may be required. In the rare occurrence it is needed, we will work with you to attain Full permission.
